Complete our Enrolment Form
Bring proof of address, proof of residency/citizenship and photo identification (e.g. current driver’s licence, Medicare card, photo card, Australian or foreign passport. Please speak with our staff if you are not able to supply one or more of these documents)
Acquire a Unique Student Identifier (USI). See the “Obtaining a USI” section below for more information
Complete the LLN assessment; this part of the enrolment aims to identify the student’s suitability for the course and their potential support needs. It allows trainers to understand how they can adjust the training to cater for the students’ additional needs. Occasionally, the pre-assessment outcome may reveal that the course is not suitable for the student. In these circumstances, we will discuss potential alternative pathways towards your desired goals.
Complete the Smart & Skilled Form for subsidised training under the NSW Government’s Smart & Skilled scheme if eligible. A member of our team will speak with you regarding the process. Click here for more information regarding eligibility
Complete the Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer Form (if applicable). A member of our team will speak with you regarding the process

The last step of enrolment requires you to read and understand the policies and procedures of First Base Training. A copy will be provided either electronically or physically. Students will need to indicate they have read it. An email will then be sent to you confirming your enrolment, details and brief you on what to expect on commencement.

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a string of ten numbers and letters which acts as an identification code allowing learners to access a single online record of their VET training and achievements across all training institutes.
From 1st January 2015, all students that undertake nationally recognised training need to have a USI prior to commencing a course.
Students can authorise First Base Training to create a USI on their behalf during the enrolment process or choose to obtain a USI themselves. To obtain your own USI, visit this page. Please note that when registering for a USI number, you will need to give permission for an RTO (e.g. First Base Training) to view your records and your USI.
If you are unsure if you currently hold a USI, you can also find or check your USI here.
To learn more, please watch this short video about USIs and how to create your own.
