Fee Information
Our student fees are inclusive of the course delivery, essential learning resources (workbooks, learner guides/textbooks), IT support, and learning and personal support services such as mentoring, study skills programs, and careers guidance. Specific course fees are outlined in our courses.

Notice: As a Smart and Skilled contracted training provider, our full qualification courses are currently fee-free ($0) for eligible students until 31st December 2024. Please see our Fee Free Training page for more information.
All students are issued with an individualised payment plan upon enrolment. A deposit is required to be paid prior to course commencement – a deposit of minimum $240 / maximum $1500 (if applicable). This will be followed through with the student throughout the duration of the course.
The remainder of the fees can be paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly.
Qualification fees are set by the NSW government and are adjusted accordingly to a student’s personal circumstance and previous education. For more details, click here.

First Base Training is a Smart and Skilled course and training provider. Upon discussion with the enrolment officer, students may be eligible for subsidised training under the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled scheme. Eligible students will pay only a portion of the training cost as discussed during the enrolment process. To be eligible you must be:
15 years old or over
No longer attending secondary schooling
Living or working in NSW
An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

If a student is deemed eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) for one or more course units, the student’s fees will be lowered accordingly. This is based on the qualification, the student’s smart and skilled eligibility, and determined by the Smart and Skilled Provider Calculator.

Students may decide they would like to defer, cancel or discontinue their course.
Deferrals
If a student would like to defer (delay the commencement) of the course with the intention of completing the course at a future date, no fee is payable with the exception of the enrolment fee (if applicable).
Cancellations
If a student would like to cancel their enrolment (prior to the commencement of the course), with no intention to begin the course at a future date, no fee is payable.
Withdrawals/discontinues
If a student has commenced a course and would like to discontinue/withdraw from a course, the fee payable is calculated pro-rata as a percentage of the units attended until the withdrawal date.

Fee Protection policy
FBT has protective measures in place to ensure student fees are protected, and that students do not accrue undesirable fees.
FBT will not collect more than $1500 prior to course commencement and progress payments will not exceed $1500 instalments throughout the course.
Cooling off policy and refunds
FBT protects the rights of the learner including the Statutory requirements for cooling-off periods.
Students are eligible to cancel their enrolment by placing a formal notice of cancellation in writing to the General Manager (a letter or email is acceptable) prior to student commencing their course. Cancellations received prior to course commencement are eligible for full refunds. Please refer to the Refund policy process on acquiring a refund.
If FBT is unable to provide services for prepaid services, FBT will place the student into an equivalent course such that:
The new location is suitable to the student
The student receives the full services for which they have prepaid at no additional cost to the student; or;
Students will be paid a refund of any prepaid fees for services yet to be delivered

There may be some instances of a personal cost to a student in addition to the general course fees. These costs can include:
Non-essential items used to complete training
Alternative form of access to resources obtained externally by a student otherwise made readily available at no additional fee by First Base Training
Field trips and food, transport and accommodation costs associated with the provision of field trips that form part of the training.
Students will be made aware of any additional costs prior to enrolment and before accepting to pay for additional services.
