Fee Information

Student Fees

Our student fees are inclusive of the course delivery, essential learning resources (workbooks, learner guides, and textbooks), IT support, and learning and personal support services such as mentoring, study skills programs, and careers guidance.

Specific course fees are outlined in our courses

Payment Options

From the 31 December 2021 to 31 December 2022, our courses are fee-free ($0) and fully funded by the NSW and Australian Government under JobTrainer for eligible students.  To find out more, see NSW JobTrainer

All students are issued with an individualised payment plan upon enrolment. A deposit is required to be paid prior to course commencement – a deposit of minimum $300 / maximum $1500 (if applicable). This will be followed through with the student throughout the duration of the course.

The remainder of the fees will be paid quarterly following a payment plan with a total of 4 instalments amounting to 25% of the total course fees in relation to the course duration. Each amount is different for each student.

Qualification fees are set by the NSW government and are adjusted accordingly to a student’s personal circumstance and previous education. For more details, visit https://www.training.nsw.gov.au/smartandskilled/prices_fees.html

Deferrals, cancellations and withdrawals

Students may decide they would like to defer, cancel or discontinue the course at any time prior to or following the commencement of a qualification.

Deferrals

If a student would like to defer (delay the commencement) of the course with the intention of completing the course at a future date, no fee is payable with the exception of the enrolment fee (if applicable)

Cancellations

If a student would like to cancel their enrolment (prior the commencement of the course), with no intention to begin the course at a future date, no fee is payable.

Withdrawals/discontinues

If a student has commenced a course and would like to discontinue/withdraw from a course, the fee payable is calculated pro-rata as a percentage of the units attended until the withdrawal date.

Fee Policies and Refunds

Fee Protection policy

FBT has protective measures in place to ensure student fees are protected, and that students do not accrue undesirable fees.

FBT will not collect more than $1500 prior to course commencement and progress payments will not exceed $1500 instalments throughout the course.

Cooling off policy and refunds

FBT protects the rights of the learner including the Statutory requirements for cooling-off periods.

Students are eligible to cancel their enrolment by placing a formal notice of cancellation in writing to the General Manager (a letter or email is acceptable) prior to student commencing their course. Cancellations received prior to course commencement are eligible for full refunds. Please refer to the Refund policy process on acquiring a refund.

If FBT is unable to provide services for prepaid services, FBT will place the student into an equivalent course such that:

  1. The new location is suitable to the student
  2. The student receives the full services for which they have prepaid at no additional cost to the student; or;
  3. Students will be paid a refund of any prepaid fees for services yet to be delivered
