CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

Your gateway into a rewarding and positive career in disability care and support

First Base Training recognises the contribution that those with disabilities provide to our communities, and understand they deserve dignity and respect at all stages of their life.

It is with this core ethos and philosophy in mind that our CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability course was developed. Perhaps you have some background in disability care but want more experience in applying these skills in a practical and professional environment. If so, then this qualification is for you!

This is a program designed for those who have a calling to support and empower people with disabilities so they may achieve greater independence, community participation and well-being. See our course snapshot for more information on duration and work placement requirements.

About Certificate IV in Disability

This program is suitable for learners who are qualified and working in the community and/or residential setting or have a career in aged care. This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

You will attend up to 6 months of theory classes and participate in 120 hours of work placement organised by FBT.

Work-placement is a valuable experience that gives you the opportunity to apply your in-class learning to real practice. Placement in an aged care facility will ensure that you know what to expect when you enter the industry.

NB: You are required to submit a federal police clearance as you are required to have clearance prior to work-placement.
