About Certificate III in Individual Support

This program is suitable for learners who are unqualified and working in the community and/or residential setting or entering into a career in aged care. This qualification covers workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support for individuals that may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Individual Support (formerly known as Aged Care) is made up of Disability, Aged Care and Home & Community Care. This course is formerly known as CHC30212 - Aged Care

Duration

Local Students

You will attend 13 weeks of theory classes and participate in 3 weeks of work placement (5 days/week) organised by FBT.

Work-placement is a valuable experience that gives you the opportunity to apply your in-class learning to real practice. Placement in an aged care facility will ensure that you know what to expect when you enter the industry.

NB: You are required to submit a federal police clearance as you are required to have clearance prior to work-placement.

 

International Students

You will attend 15 weeks of theory classes and participate in 3 weeks of work placement (5 days/week) organised by FBT. This course contains 4 weeks of holidays.

Work-placement is a valuable experience that gives you the opportunity to apply your in-class learning to real practice. Placement in an aged care facility will ensure that you know what to expect when you enter the industry.

NB: You are required to submit a federal police clearance as you are required to have clearance prior to work-placement.

Fees

Local Students

You may be eligible for government subsidised training if you are:

  • An Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen, AND
  • Aged 15 years or older and no longer at school AND
  • Living or working in NSW

International Students

Registration Fee: AU$200 (Non-refundable under any circumstances except in the unlikely event of Provider default)
Tuition fees: AU$5400
Commencement fee payable to obtain your Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE): AU$2700 + $200 (Registration Fee) payable in advance to ensure that you have sufficient time to secure your student visa if required
Remaining balance of tuition fees payable two weeks before the beginning of the second semester: AU$2700. Special notes: Late payment can cause cancellation of study.
Assessment

You will be assessed at various points of your course to make sure that you understand the information given to you. You will have several opportunities to demonstrate that you have understood the course content through assessments.

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support

This course is eligible for Smart and Skilled funding and the training is subsided by the NSW Government

  • Course Duration : 16 weeks
  • Theory : 13 weeks (2 days/week). Students are expected to study 3 hours/day of homework, readings and research.
  • Work Placement : 3 weeks (5 days/week, 120 hrs in total)
